Platform Engineering for Mission-Critical Clouds
Date: April 16, 2026
TIME: 11:00am PT | 2:00pm ET
DURATION: 60 Minutes
Federal agencies are under pressure to modernize application delivery while maintaining strict compliance, zero-trust posture, and operational stability. Platform Engineering has emerged as the architectural pattern to reconcile these competing demands.
In this session, we explore how VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9 enables a structured, secure, and automatable platform engineering approach across virtual machines and Kubernetes workloads. We will examine how VCs compute, storage, networking, Kubernetes, and automation capabilities combine to form a repeatable, policy-driven platform layer suitable for regulated environments.
Attendees will gain a practical understanding of how VCF can serve as the foundation for internal developer platforms (IDPs) that meet Federal security mandates while accelerating application delivery -- without introducing operational sprawl or compliance risk

Speaker: Jad El-Zein | Principal Technologist, VCF Division
Technology leader with a 16-year tenure at VMware [by Broadcom] and over 27 years of experience in the IT industry, ranging from driving tech vision, strategy and implementation to leading the research and development of emerging technologies. Speaker, thought leader, mentor, community advocate.
